Tata Harrier EV User Review: Will this electric SUV prove to be a game-changer?

Tata Motors continues to hold a strong hold in the electric vehicles market, and is now ready to have another blast with the Tata Harrier EV. This mid-size electric SUV is scheduled to launch in March 2025, and its  range of over 500 km and the all-wheel drive (AWD) feature has already grabbed people’s attention. But what do users and experts say about it? Let’s find out.

Design: Electric embodiment of the classic Harrier

The design of the Harrier EV is very similar to its ICE (internal combustion engine)  version, but it  has EV-спеcific changes.  Users are loving its closed grille, new aero-optimised alloy wheels, and sleek LED  lights. One user said, “It looks as strong as it looks, just now it looks like a vehicle of the future.” Its road presence and bold styling make it stand out in the segment.

Performance: Power and AWD

The Tata Harrier EV has a dual-motor setup, which gives it AWD (Tata calls it QWD – Quad Wheel Drive) capability. The 500 Nm of torque and quick pickup make it a “powerhouse”.  After its showcase at the Pune plant, a user wrote, “It  doesn’t feel like an SUV,  it feels like a sports car.”  However, some say the suspension can be a bit stiff.

Range and battery: long-range promise

The Harrier EV is expected to get a 60-75 kWh  battery pack, which can give a range of over 500  km. Users are considering it reliable for long drives. One said, “Even if it gives 450 km in the real-world, it is enough for me.” The V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) charging features also make it special.

Features: A treasure trove of technology

The interior features  a 12.3-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital driver display, ADAS, and a panoramic sunroof. Users are liking its  “Smart Cockpit” look and JBL  sound system. One user wrote, “This is a perfect mix of technology and comfort.”  However, some are hoping for an improvement in touchscreen response.

Comfort and Space

The cabin of the Harrier EV  is premium but, there might be a slight reduction in rear space and boot because of the battery.  The front seats are said to be comfortable, but the rear has talked about average comfort for long journeys.  Users are considering it more of a driver-focused SUV.

Price: Will it be value for money?

At an estimated price of  Rs 22-30 lakh (ex-showroom),  it will take on the likes of Mahindra BE 6 and Hyundai Creta EV. Users say, “If the features and range are found in this price, then it can be a deal breaker.”  But some are concerned about the service network.

conclusion

The Tata Harrier EV is a perfect blend of style, power,  and technology. Users are excited by its look and performance, but questions are being raised about space and service. If you want a strong electric SUV, this might be the one for you. What do you think? Let us know in the comments
